Sustainability is defined as meeting the needs of current generations without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. This minor provides students, regardless or major or career aspirations, the opportunity to learn more about the interconnectedness of humans and the environment from ecological, political, economic, ethical and socio-cultural viewpoints. Sustainability education will help students discover ways to maintain Earth's natural resources properly, learn about how sustainability affects national, international, and economic processes, and acquire knowledge of cultural sustainability. The Sustainability Studies minor will help give students tools needed to address local and global issues that deal with complex and interrelated sustainability issues.
