Elementary Education

The Elementary Education major aims to prepare students, among others, to: create equitable instructional opportunities; demonstrate knowledge of the subject areas for which they will be responsible as teachers; and use assessment to monitor student learning and inform their planning and decisions.

Students admitted to the accelerated Education major are typically employed as paraeducators, graduates of a partnering 2+2 degree program, or changing careers and needing some schedule flexibility while making the transition.

Additional Academic Requirements for education majors can be found in the Education section of the Catalog.
